Heart to Heart Adoption is a FLS and NYS 501(c)3 licensed agency to process domestic and international adoptions in all 50 states for families of all backgrounds.
We are members of the BBB, the Florida Adoption Council, JCICS on International Adoptions and we are Hague accredited by the COA, Council on Accreditation.
We have programs in Guatemala, Haiti, Ukraine, the United States, a Nepal networked program with a state licensed accredited agency both in Nepal and in the US by the COA. The most current program is partnered with an agency accredited in Russia for many years. We work with highly ethical and well respected professionals in all our programs and countries. In country representatives in all our programs are bi-lingual. They are able to translate for our families so travel is much more relaxed and comfortable as well as accommodate their adoption needs.
All staff members in our New York and Florida offices that work directly with families are adoptive parents. This ensures total understanding, compassion and sensitivity to the emotions and needs of our families as well as the details of preparing a dossier and the ability to provide accurate updates while the file is passing through the country courts.
Our Guatemala Program has been open for 7 years. At this time, Guatemala adoptions are suspended; however, it is our most popular program because children are in foster homes, escorts are available and if you choose to travel the pick up trip is short. The process usually takes an estimated 7 to 9 months once the dossier is in Guatemala.
Our Ukraine Program has been open for almost 6 years. The children available are children with special needs, children 10 and older and siblings of children a family has already adopted. Ukrainian children do live in orphanages. Families travel to Ukraine and visit ophanages and identify their child while they are in country.
Our Haiti Program places children from the Chances for Children Orphanage in Haiti. The children available are infants, toddlers and young children. They live in an orpahange that has many caregivers so the children are getting individual care. Visiting your child during the process is an option in Haiti and escorting is also available. The time frame is approximately 10 to 13 months.
We have a US Domestic Program. This program offers mostly infants relinquished at birth; however, toddlers are occasionally available. Married couples can apply to adopt as well as singles. We work with a highly respected attorney in Florida that is an adopted child herself and has 2 adopted sons. She has more than 25 years experience in the adoption field.
We are now networking a Nepal Program with a state licensed, COA accredited agency and also accredited in the Country of Nepal. Children in Nepal are infants, toddlers, children with special needs and sibling groups. They live in orphanages and they are healthy. The process can take anywhere from 6 months to 2 years but is usually shorter.
The newest program Heart to Heart can offer is partnered with a licensed agency that is accredited in Russia. Russian children available are from 12 months to 15 years of age. Some may have minor correctable medical problems. The process will take from 12 months to 14 months.
Heart to Heart offers home studies, clearances and post placement report services for Florida and New York State residents. If you are not a resident of these 2 states and are registered with a Heart to Heart adoption program, we will work with you to identify a social worker to prepare your home study. Arrangements can be made for home study family based training.
In order to provide continued support to the children in the countries we have programs in, Heart to Heart has a "Waiting Heart's Club" that allows our families to send items that are useful to the children. Our couriers take these items to the country of your choice.
We provide references. We have hundreds of families that we have processed adoptions for. Many of these families would be happy to share their experience through Heart to Heart with you.
We have also launched a "Waiting Heart's Mentors Program." Families that have adopted through Heart to Heart will serve as mentors to new families who would like support during their process.
Spanish speaking families welcome. We have a bi-lingual staff member.
